NSW: Doctors remove hand of first hand transplant paitent

Doctors have removed the hand of the world's first hand-transplant patient CLINT HALLAM
at a secret hospital location in London.

Australian microsurgeon Professor EARL OWEN, a co-leader of the international transplantation
team which attached the hand on September 23, 1998, says the hand was removed in a short
operation around 8 am (AEDT) today, Autralian time.
